What a Wonderful Weekend!!!

Thursday night, I went with a girlfriend and her friends to the Twilight premier!!! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. We showed up at 9 p.m. with a table decorated with a rose, an apple, a candle and a sign marked "Team Cullen." We ate cupcakes and cookies and sipped hot coffee, while listening to "Bella's" soundtrack (apparently). I even wore my Shining Vampire club bracelet, keeping my Minnesota girls close at heart. The movie was super awesome cheesiness!!! I especially loved all the teenage girls love screeches. I left the movie smitten for more... It did make me a Edward lover...after having swore myself to Jacob.

Friday, Lily had her fall conferences. As expected, she got glowing reviews! Her teacher told us that she has a 4.7 grade reading level!! I knew she was ahead, but I was surprised to hear it quantitatively.

Friday night we hosted 12 first grade girls and 4 leaders at our house for the Brownie sleepover!!!! It was priceless. We did holiday crafts, had ice cream sundaes, watched Tinkerbell and played board games. I even taught them how to play "OhhBoShaNotAndTaughtin" and we played crawl tag and had headstand contests. The girls were great. We shut out the lights at 10:15 and they were out in 20 minutes!!! We woke up to a pancake breakfast..and lots of jumping on the beds. It was great fun.

Saturday was a sleep catch up day. Lily went to her Nutcracker rehearsals and we had movie night. Mike has the kids watching the Star Wars series. Last night was Episode II: Attack of the Clones. The kids really enjoy them. I am very surprised. Mike also discovered he could do a two cartwheel, roundoff tumbling pass. Very impressive for 30.

Today we woke up and headed off to church. Then Mike took the kids to play tennis. They loved it. Lily told Mike that he should be her tennis coach. I am sure he was glowing inside at that comment. Meanwhile, I got to work planning my very first Thanksgiving. I am very excited. Anyhow, then it was such a bummer, we headed off to the beach and it was FREEZING COLD, a minuscule 65 degrees! So we headed home after an hour to warm cider and hot baths.

A wonderful weekend in sunny CA!
