Wow!!! What a summer. Time is just flying. There has been so much going on in our house this past month, it's hard to know where to start, so here goes.
-I sold my car!!! A little bittersweet, but we've officially upgraded to the mini-van. Mike is thrilled. It's been two weeks and he still has yet to sit in the driver's seat. But the kids love it. The doors open like a rocket ship. It's fun.
- I ordered this bumper sticker for my van. I'm afraid to put it on though...I might get keyed.
- Lily also outgrew her toddler bed this month. She was complaining of hitting her head against the side railings, so we upgraded the kids to bunk beds. They couldn't be more thrilled. But watch out, Peter is a wild man on top!!!
- Our beta fish "Nemo" a.k.a. "Lily's fishy" died this last week. He lived to the ripe age of 3!!! Lily told me today that in heaven he has lots of other fish friends. May he rest in peace.
- Peter is taking Tae Kwon Doe. Kachow!!!
- Lily finished her reading lessons. She is officially reading. She can read all of the easy reader books, we can't keep up with her. She even started her own website. You can visit her at Lily's Fancy website.
- We put Lily in a gymnastics camp this past week. She told me that she loved it more than dance. Doesn't she look proud.
- We went to the cabin last weekend. The kids wore Busia and Grandpa out. Lily caught a small mouth bass, Peter played t-ball and fished with Grandpa, Lily and I played a Carebear board game, croquet and ran through the sprinkler, we ate lots of smores, we got a visit from the Wisconsin Lippolds, Busia took Lily to the Greenhouse and we even got to see farm animals. It was a blast. And the best part about it, a DVD occupied them all the way home!!! It was heaven.
- Lily is already planning her birthday party. She is very into it. She is even creating signs to hang. This year's theme: Barbie and the 12 Dancing Princesses.
- We've really got a lot in this summer. Lily & Peter were in a summer camp, Lily took tennis lessons, we've made it to Elm Creek, the Children's Museum, the kids and I are in swimming lessons, we have frequented the Lifetime Pool (the kids favorite), we've rode the Wayzata Trolley, visited Choo Choo Bob's, had Maddie & Emma over and even managed to fit in a couple of playdates. Still up...Lily's soccer camp, a kids concert, some puppet shows, a carnival, Peter's Thomas workshop, the dentist and the State Fair. I do live the life in the summertime.
- The kids were in a bike parade in Excelsior on the 4th. They really enjoyed decorating their bikes, just like a book called "Grandpa's Big Surprise." We capped off the day by spending a day out at the lake with J.D., Travis, Lindsey & Roman. We followed that up with fireworks in Plymouth the next day. It was 4th of July bliss.
Mike and I are also pleased to announced that we are PREGNANT with our 3rd child, due March 22nd... the day before Easter. We thought a 4 and a 6 year space was plenty, so here we go. The kids are ecstatic. Lily wants a sister and Peter wants a brother. Lily quizzed me for a good 20 minutes on how EXACTLY I knew I was pregnant. I had to explain the test to her about 5 times. At least she didn't ask the REALLY difficult question. I think I may need to get some books for that one. So, on we go.
Happy Day!!!
