Random Jenny Thoughts

-I think I'm going to run Grandma's Half Marathon this year. I've thought about it for a while and I want to do it for several reasons. One, I want to run fast, and I can only do that for so long. Two, I don't want to take up my ENTIRE spring training, but would like a good running structure. Three, I want to be a part of the fun, but with less pain. Four, I don't want to disappoint myself, being that Mike is training this spring too and that recipe doesn't work so well. Five, I want to see how macrobiotics works with long distance running. And six, I just got new running shoes, so it pretty much means I have to run. Anyone want to join me? Mike and Joe are running the full marathon. And I think I've suckered my brother into the half. But the more the merrier.

- The new Chris Daughtry c.d. is awesome. Especially track two, Used to Be, a and track three, Home. I've listened to it way too many time.

-I think I want to ditch my English degree and do something totally different with my life. English/teaching is not my real passion. My real passion lies in nutrition, natural childbirth, total mind and body health. Maybe I should be a nutritionist, a doula, or a nurse? I really want to do something with the food/mind connection. I know it requires more time, more work, more money. But that's my passion, where I want to leave my mark.

- I want to go to this this summer.

- Lily and Peter have been so cute lately. They have been sharing so nicely. Today, Lily drew a picture for Peter while he was at school. She also let him press the door "button" at school. He has been equally nice and will give her his favorite toys to play with. Lily even taught Peter how to get his pajamas on tonight. It's sibling bliss at our house right now. Although, I know better than to expect this every day. But a few days is nice.

- I have been getting real emotional lately taking Lily places. We took her to "Camp Snoopy" (which, by the way, her and Peter went on ALL the kid rides) last week and there was a dance team performing there. Well, I got all emotional when I took her over to watch the girls dance. The same thing happened to me when I was showing her the Kristi Yamaguchi Ice Skating show today. Real tears. It's something about seeing life through her eyes....seeing all that can be again. The pureness of knowing that she can do whatever she wants in life. Knowing that these are where dreams start. It's so beautiful. Then she asked me, "Mommy, can you dance like that." I would have loved to say yes.

- Peter is going to see Monster Jam with Mike this weekend. He can't wait. I would love to go , just to see how excited he gets. Kids are awesome.

- I think a heating coil is out in my dryer. It takes two cycles to dry one load. So instead of 4 hours of drying a week. It's 8. Sucks.

- We bought a bird house three weeks ago. Still no birds. Don't they know it's free food.

- Peter now pitches a ball by shaking off the catcher, raising his leg, and throwing. Except he still doesn't quite have the balance, so he holds on to the wall. It's funny.
