Mike had a great marathon!!! He finished a few minutes earlier than planned and is well on his way to qualifying for Boston at Grandmas Marathon 2007. He followed his entire training program, worked super hard and it showed in his performance! After he finished, he backtracked 3 miles to help me in. Mike ran nearly 32 miles yesterday!!! You are awesome!

I FINISHED!!!! The numbers tell it all!!! I was cruising good until the half marathon and then fell apart. I worked through it till mile 19 and then it became, as Mike coined it, "a T-shirt and medal race." I was running from the sweeper bus. I walked/runned the rest of the thing and at mile 23 Mike met me to walk/run me in. The biggest thing I learned was, "Respect the distance." For this marathon, I tried to wing it, and it blew up on me. There are many things I could have done differently, but the fact still remains, I have completed 3 marathons, my fastest still being 4:30. At mile 25, like many runners yesterday I was done marathoning, but even through the soreness today I know I am not. I will run faster than my 4:30, just not yet.

And next marathon, I am subscribing to Mike's training program.
