It was great!!! Mike and I took a little nostalgic trip down to Saint Peter to relive some of the good ol' days at Gustavus. We took a walk around campus, relived some good memories, had a couple of drinks at Patty's and headed to Mankato for dinner. It was really a blast.
So, you ask, what else has been going on? Well, since a website is more give then take, here it is.
-I finished this book called Confessions of a Slacker Mom by Muffy Mead-Ferro. It is some refreshing reading. I picked the book up after seeing Mead-Ferro on Oprah. Oprah was doing a special on Ayelet Waldman's piece in the New York Times entitled "Modern Love; Truly, Madly, Guiltily." If it ever was possible to feel cultured about parenting, these reading will get you there. Truly life changing.
-Being the naturalist I am, I have been obsessed with this website. It's some surprising stuff.
-I ran 18 miles on Saturday. I finished in 2:52, which means I will probably finish the marathon in about 4 hours flat. That's roughly an hour faster than my first. So to those of you non runners, that's about 9 minute pace. I ran pretty good. I wasn't too sore or tired. I could have finished a marathon, if I really had to. The river is such a pretty place to run. I had the perfect weather, 50 and cloudy. I even got rained on a little. It was refreshing.
-Mother's Day was fabulous. Not only did Mike take the kids for the majority of Saturday, but we also took a walk around Lake Calhoun. Mike was great and gave me a real break. It was a relaxing weekend. Come to think of it, I don't think I have been alone in my house with nothing to do or no one to tend to for more than a year. It was like oxygen.
-Mike and I are getting more date nights!!! This last weekend we went out for dinner at Boston's, a stroll around Arbor Lake's mall and to see the movie Hitch. It was fabulous!!! And the best part about it, we get to do it again in two weeks! Mike and I are trading nights with some friends of ours. It's heaven!
-Peter is growing so fast! That kid is a nut! He is so fun to watch. I can't believe he is going to turn one next month. Can you believe it? I am busy at work getting together his birthday party. Wow, where did the time go?
-Lily knows her address and phone number. That girl has such a memory. I don't know where she gets it, because it's not from my side of the family. We bought her a trike this last weekend. She is so proud of herself motoring around the neighborhood. Her and her Carebear helmet.
-Other than that, friends are having babies and moving into new houses. It's such an exciting time.
And finally, news has been getting out about: Friday Night Lights Joe Mauer Monster Baseball. We built it, you can come. Every Friday night until October baby.
