Today, I went out for lunch with a couple of girlfriends of mine and their kids. We went to the Original Pancake House in Wayzata. Lunch was going just perfect, the four girls were acting pleasant and Peter was perfectly content chomping on his pancakes. So, we were wrapping up and I took Lily's plate and put it on the other side of the table. Well, apparently not far enough, because Peter knocked it to the ground with a big crashhh... Well, that wouldn't have been bad. But then Lily belted out the biggest scream you have ever heard, followed by a roar of crying. I swear the whole restaurant stopped. No joke. Everyone was looking at us. Looking back on it, it was hilarious!!! Although, I admit, my face was a little flushed at the time. But it goes to show you how adventuresome Peter is and how sensitive Lily is. Ahhhhh.... motherhood.
On another note, there are benefits to putting your bed in the living room. 1. We have a fireplace, bar, balcony, and sitting room in the master suite. 2. I can clean the kitchen during the bedtime routine. 3. I can take afternoon naps, being that there is no carpet to clean or toys to pick up. 4. The kids can jump without falling off. 5. Peter can crawl up on the couches and won't fall. 6. You don't have to go anywhere for a midnight snack. 7. More snuggle time. 8. We realize how much more space we really have. 9. It's a good excuse to stay in your pajamas until noon. 10. Peter slept through the night.
Oh, and one more thing. Peter has no fear. I swear this kid just learned how to stand, and now he is trying to jump from furniture to furniture. He's fallen like ten times today, but keeps at it. This kid is going to be walking in no time. He's very determined.
