Having a child makes you so much more connected with both life and death... You begin seeing life in a whole new perspective. Suddenly, everyone is someone's son or daughter. You feel so much love for your own child that you feel a different kind of sorrow for people who have lost love ones or has had a child go awry. I think parenthood makes us all a bit more compassionate. I think it makes us love life for its own sake. Last night, I was reading this and tears were streaming down my cheeks. Life is beautiful and pure and so filled with love that it is hard to even fathom.
