I had a wonderful night last night. Mike picked me up at 4 p.m. and supposedly we were going over to Mike's parents to drop Lily off. Well, instead Mike drove to my Aveda salon and dropped me off for a manicure and a stone pedicure!!! It was fabulous. Then we went out for lobster, a dinner we had been promising each other ever since we had Lily. After all these good treats, we picked up some Starbucks and headed off to get Lily. Lily had a fabulous time hanging out with her Grandma and Auntie Isha (code for Alyssa). She was very happy when we got there and even pretended like she missed me. I love babies.
Also, this morning I had four people sing me "Happy Birthday." It was Lily, Barb, my Mom, and Kari in that order.
Nevertheless, this year's birthday takes on a whole new meaning for me. I feel like I understand and respect life in a whole new way.
